London Travel Diaries
London, travel pickups & January favorites.
Happy February! It’s been a while…
My partner often travels for work, and this time, I joined him for a trip to London. We spent two days exploring together before he went back to work and I experienced my first bit of solo travel.
We stayed near Southwark, a neighborhood I quickly became familiar with. If you’re planning a visit or find yourself in the area, here are my top spots:
1. Columbia Coffee Company: This roastery offers an immersive experience into Colombian coffee culture. The space is intimate and filled with the rich aroma of freshly roasted beans, making it the perfect spot to appreciate the craft behind every cup.
2. WatchHouse in Bermondsey: I spent my last day in London here, book in hand, soaking in the aesthetic atmosphere. Someone nearby me described it as an “Aesop store,” and I couldn’t agree more—minimal, refined, and inviting. With fresh coffee and delicious pastries, it was the perfect place to pause.
3. Tate Modern: Housed in a former power station, the space is just as impressive as the collections inside. With pieces from iconic artists like Van Gogh, Dali, and Warhol, it’s a awesome browse.
4. Where The Pancakes Are: Delicious breakfasts made with all locally sourced ingredients. I loved it so much that I went twice—and both times, I ordered the classic English breakfast. Simple, fresh, and perfectly satisfying.
London pickups
Our first day we did the obligatory trip to Harrods. While the clothes were a little out of budget, the kids section had Hirono figures in their inventory. I picked up a Hirono × Le Petit Prince Series Figures surprise box and got the Rose!
My first solo day in London I roamed from Notting Hill down to Kensington and over to Chelsea. Along my wanders I found an antique store by the name of Reindeer Antiques. The store was filled with gorgeous ceramics and dog prints. What caught my eye most was a ceramic pomegranate. So I had to take it home…
As a tea lover, I couldn’t resist picking up several boxes of Fortnum & Mason tea. So far, my favorite is Fortmason—an Earl Grey with a nice tang.
